Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group

Star- Mobile Apps, “A hybrid app is first coded like a website, using industry-standard Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This platform-independent code is then "wrapped" inside a native container that allows the app to access platform-specific features and to be distributed and installed like a native app.”(http://www.ibm.com) This shows that there is still more development that can be done on apps and that people are demanding that they be made.

Cash Cow- Playstation 4, “And the industry hasn’t topped its spending pinnacle of 2009 when console gamers bought $14.1 billion on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. DFC Intelligence video game analyst David Cole believes the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U spending will peak at about $12 billion by 2016.”(http://www.forbes.com) The PS4 is in high demand not only for its gaming capabilities, but also for its video capabilities. Although it is in high demand it is unclear if there will be a PS5, meaning that this type of gaming might be coming to an end.

Question Mark- Computer games, “Like consoles, the PC gaming market is as strong as it’s ever been, and while there is certainly crossover between PC gamers and console players, one market is not poised to kill the other.”(http://www.forbes.com)

Dog- Xbox one, I put the Xbox One into this category because it made significantly less money than its rival, PS4. It was even compared to the profitability of the Xbox 360, in which the 360 made more money. Unlike Playstation the Xbox has never made a profit only breaking even on their budget.
